Divine delays…

Filed under: Uncategorized — In the world but not of it @ 5:00 am

So although Jesus loved Martha, Mary, and Lazarus, he stayed where he was for the next two days. John 11:5-6

If we are more concerned about God’s glory then we won’t ever need to look after our own. He will take care of us…

Jesus wasn’t delaying in this passage. God is never early and never late. He is always on time. Through some experience in our walk we come to learn that there is no situation so grim that He cannot resolve it. The question is who gets the glory once it is resolved.

The situations God allows in our lives are precisely for the purpose of shaping, molding, preparing… they are designed to polish us so that the reflection others see when they look at us is not the person they used to know but rather a reflection of Christ.

Every trial and circumstance in life which He allows is to develop a deeper longing for Him. We struggle with the timing of God not so much the answers from Him. We could happily accept a “no” from Him if we even got that at times, but so often there is much more at stake.

If you are struggling today then read this passage (John 11:1-53) and see just how meticulous the Lord is in our lives.

Corrie Ten Boom once said “there is no pit so deep that He is not deeper still.”
