Show some respect…

Filed under: Uncategorized — In the world but not of it @ 5:00 am

The LORD supports the humble, but he brings the wicked down
into the dust. Psalms 146:10

I once heard the story of a German schoolteacher that taught
a young group of kids and each day as they entered his class he would greet
them and bow graciously to show each one respect. When asked why he would do
this to his young students he replied that you never know if you are greeting a
future king or famous individual who will go on to do great things.

The reason we know this story is because one of his students
was Albert Einstein, who shared this story years later as it had a lasting
impact on him.

It takes effort and work to always look for the good in
others, doesn’t it? We will live and work in a world that often looks for the
bad in others. It is a daily challenge to respond with love and respect to
people who are difficult or rub us the wrong way. But it is not about us.

Our lives are about the Lord. We must pray continuously for
the eyes to see people our Lord sees them. People respond to love, humility,
respect, kindness and gentleness. These, of course, are the fruit of the Holy
Spirit
