He is our share…

Filed under: Uncategorized — In the world but not of it @ 5:00 am

I am your share and your allotment. Numbers 18:20

God made it clear to His people that all the blessings that were bestowed upon them were to be found in Him. Everything that the Lord had done for them, told to them and instructed them to do was to ensure that their foundation was built upon a relationship with Him.

Then I pray to you, O LORD. I say, “You are my place of refuge. You are all I really want in life. Psalms 142:5

What do we really want out of life? This is not some deep philosophical question but rather a question that requires complete honesty from us. Many people would answer that they want family, health, the ability or capability to meet their needs and so on. All these are good things and to desire them is something that is instilled in us. But none of them can satisfy the craving that exists within us, the one that we often believe is satisfied with the external and material aspects of life.

God tells us here that he is our territory (share) and our inheritance (allotment) – He is the property, the land, the blessing we desire to have.

What we love the most will determine how much we are satisfied with it and it will be reflected as such in our lives.
